Shape from Lectric Panda
Shape from Lectric Panda is a utility that was originally designed by Lectric Panda and was released as a separate Rack Extension. While synchronous was more an effect process generator where the curve could also be used as an external control voltage output. Shape, on the other hand, is all about that idea yet take it towards a whole different level. When I originally bought Shape as a utility to sculpture a sound in all kind of different ways, I started making use of this device more often especially in terms of Genres like Ambient music, IDM, Breakcore, and Glitch. Part of the beauty lies in the way you can reuse the same pattern, yet do it differently while the waveform progresses over time. So from an evolving point of view, that is pretty much perfect for the genres I just mentioned.
Mastering suites are often being used for processing the final audio chain. The core function for the mastering suite is to have the final polished version of a track ready. With Reason 5 there are 4 main core components you could use to make a mastering suite work. An Equalizer, Stereo Imager, Compressor and finally the Maximizer. Each tool has its own unique function within the final master.

I am Hydlide of Reason experts. In this article, I am going to create a combinator that would be similar as an approach to how the NNXT internally works. Since I have heard a lot of times, we need a better sampler inside Reason. Yet at this point, we have a better sampler since Reason 10, Grain sample manipulator.
Creating an Analog synthesizer with Thor
I am Hydlide of ReasonExperts.com. In this article, I want to share an idea on how to create an analog synthesizer using Thor inside Propellerhead Reason. While the idea is nothing new (since I have talked about this technique in for instance creating a Moog synthesizer in Reason and while making video presentations like creating an analog synth using subtractors). I am always a fan of perfecting different ideas and this is just one of those moments. Since there is one setting, in particular, I find very useful to emulate the idea of analog style synths. And this would be the setting voice key. The idea I am going for is based on different ideas I did in the past but do something slightly different.

While I haven't really focussed on this device that much, because of issues that were in Grain and Europa since Reason 10 was released. While they were fixed in Reason 10.1 (thanx to yours truly) I decided to wait to write down an in-depth article about this device. Since I wanted to analyze a lot of different segments on what this device can do, unscrew the screws on the Grain engine itself just to see what lies under the hood, and program it in many different ways so I can call myself a Grain Expert too...

Hello there, and welcome to another happy mood article about Reason. While some people may see me as a grumpy cat, there are times when I am in a happy mood. The reason for this is the bug fix that was done for Europa and released with Reason 10.1. There were two crucial things inside of Europa which I saw a flawed synth mechanic (something I already posted in this article about my Europa Refill Project). Just to sum it up, for now, there was a velocity bug inside of both devices (which I reported) and a global envelope bug (which I encountered later, but did not report). These things were quite essential for me otherwise I would create patches that contained a flawed gizmo in them. To be honest, I wouldn't make patches for a synth that would be flawed by design. Therefore, I canceled the project (since there was no update since 5 months after I reported it). So now that the fix has been applied I can resume my Europa Refill project again.
Drum Sequencer in Reason 10
During the release of Reason 10.1, we are introduced to a new Player called Drum Sequencer a Rhythm player. While downloading the update it does not include the player by default. Since the player is free till 31th of may 2018. So after grabbing the latest update (till 31 may 2018), you can download this player for free manually. You will need to go to the shop page to grab it. Add it to your cart. Then 'checkout' and you can grab it for $0.00. I am just adding this paragraph because I have been poked about this issue for a couple of times through email, facebook or youtube.

Polymodular systems build Complex
While I have been working on a few different ideas to make a patch inside the Polymodular systems there is one thing I haven't tried myself yet, so... time to do it. First of all, let me share my thoughts before I am going to provide the whole concept as I have made this one. Normally if you take an instrument that contains an envelope the envelope will be used per voice. While in theory, you can manipulate envelopes (and what they do) inside the Polymodular systems. So they do not always have to listen to a single note or key. They can also be set up different. With that idea in mind, I thought of one easy method to 're-trigger' the envelope (and thus retrigger the envelope on all keys while they are still playing). This can be done by using 2 different distributors. One for being the normal 'sequencer' while the other acts more like an envelope re-trigger device. If you would then think about the number of options in that realm... let me not even start there.

Electric pianos in Reason
Welcome back to another creative sound design topic. Today I am going to create myself an electronic piano that is based on a wide range of different theories. While some electric pianos (like the Rhodes for instance does) uses hammers that strike a metal plate which then goes through an amplifier. This has a similar character and concept when playing, for instance, a Vibraphone. Major differences there is that a vibraphone uses different sticks, while the Rhodes piano uses a type of hammer and the sound output will go through an amp.
