To be honest, I was quite tired of doing tutorials on a daily basis. So I gave things a rest for a few days. While poking around on Facebook I have come to the conclusion that there is still some interest in to learning a few things:
- sound design
While I had a schedule laid out for myself to do day be day (which I am not sure if people actually noticed it, but there was a schedule) there were some overlapping themes taking place in the above segment. The only problem I encountered is that every 'element' came back once per week. So going from topic to topic and spread this out over the whole week yet let the same theme re-occur on the exact same day.
I have a feeling this did not really connect well with my audience, hence I raised the question for my followers. And here we are... Sorry to disappoint you guys who really want something else.
Starting from 15 October 2017 I will start a workshop regarding sound design using Thor. This will be a 16 days course (so this will range from 15 october till 31) where I'll be covering the basic principles on Oscillators, Filters, modulation, AM, FM, Syncing, Envelopes, Modulation busses and everything else. I will also be covering some additional 'secrets' I have discovered (topics that have not been touched elsewhere except on my own vlog / videos or tutorials).
The workshop I have in mind to do is going to be posted on youtube as a video series, while throwing in background stories on ReasonExperts (this site) which will also be accompanied by the patches that go with it.
Another reason for doing this workshop is to give this a follow up once Reason 10 releases. The main focus point will then become Europa. The main idea is to do a follow up on this in November (depending on the success of the initial Thor workshop).
There is still a discussion taking place if there will be a live feed taking place on twitch for a "thor workshop". If this takes place, then this would be 2 November 2017. Again, this depends on the amount of interest this topic will be getting.
I am looking forward to do this, however I might also add I have mixed feelings about doing this at the same time. The usual case is that people request these type of things, but when they actually happen... internet people tend to bail. Hence I am totally sceptical about doing a major event like this.
But anyway, feel free to spread the word about it. If it is going to be successful, I will do a follow up on this for sure. But like I have mentioned, a lot of this will depend on the receiving end of this event.
